Eden’s Bouquet Hat, Shirt, and Jeans Review

Eden's Bouquet newsboy hat

Sometimes you have to toss a cheap pair of socks or pants in your cart because you’re in a rush and your kid needs them.  Usually, within a month the color has faded and sometimes the item even has a hole or two, which leaves you wondering why you even bothered.  If this is frequently a problem for you, then you NEED to visit Eden’s Bouquet.

Welcome to your new obsession!

The clothing from Eden’s Bouquet shows such attention to detail that every single piece is unique and stunning.  These items are so precious that you’ll want to make sure they last through each child, because you won’t tire of seeing them over and over.

white button down shirt and jeans by Eden's Bouquet

To our delight, we were sent the Harbor Tweed Newsboy cap, Organic cotton shirt, and the Harbor Jeans to review.  Henry just turned one, but the boy outfits mostly come in 2T and up.  Did that stop us from putting him in the jaw-droppingly beautiful clothes?  Of course not!

As you can see, the clothes may have been a little large yet, but we could put the hat on his big head now.  We swooned at the color and feel of the warm and wooly cap, and the lovely contrast it made with the delicate white shirt.

The jeans were obviously ready for whatever adventures Henry could dream up for them, providing him with plenty of deep pockets for all his treasures.  I have a feeling I’ll be finding all sorts of surprises in the dryer after the pants get a wash.

Simply put, we were very impressed with the clothes.  Not only are they lovely, they look like they can take all the things little boys throw at their clothes: leaf-jumping, crawling, wrestling, and more.

Stay tuned for our interview with Jen, the mastermind behind the clothing, as well as a giveaway!

Did Too Plaid Shirt

Did Too Boys Plaid Shirt

Boys and plaid, they go together like peanut butter and jelly. We’ve seen plaid cropping up everywhere this season, and the Did Too’s Plaid Shirt is a fine entry. Their Tailor Navy color is ever so handsome, and a perfect match with the changing hues of fall and a nice warm hoodie.

Janie and Jack Bear Double Sleeve Tee

A warm and comfortable top with just the right amount of silliness and style, this Janie and Jack Bear Double Sleeve tee could easily become the “most worn” item of your child’s cool-weather wardrobe.  It pairs well with practically everything, and washable cotton means it can endure romping about in leaves.

Mini Stripe Double Henley by Splendid

Mini Striped Double Henley by SplendidA splendidly soft addition to any girl’s summer wardrobe, this henley by Splendid features a solid inner crewneck tee lining and cotton/model blended fabric.  It’s lightweight and ready to be paired with a longsleeved tee on those colder summer nights, or all by itself for a fun day in the sun!

Boys Gingham Shirt by Petit Bateau

Boys Gingham Shirt by Petit BateauWhile there is certainly some dispute as to whether this patterned boys gingham shirt by Petit Bateau is unapologetically retro, or just an oldschool eyesore -you may have guessed- we love the broad strokes of retro-goodness!  Feel free to disagree with us in the comments :)  Dyed in light woven gingham poplin it features metal snap buttons (trying to get your little man in and out of a button down shirt?  who wants that headache?!), top-stitched seam in the middle of the back and two top-stitched chest pockets with the bottom finished in contrasting red whip-stitch.

Finley and Oliver Bird on Branch Baby T-shirt

The designs at Finley and Oliver are adorable and modern, but if that’s not enough to make you head immediately over to their shop, they also use felt made out of recycled plastic bottles, and American Apparel shirts (which are sweatshop-free).  The applique is hand cut, fused on, and hand-stitched by the owner of the store.  We love the sweet little bird perched on the edge of its branch.

One of our favorite things about this store is that they don’t forget those of us with little boys.  Appliqued dinosaur shirts, anyone?

Zutano fashion show in Montpelier 2010

If you happen to follow Zutano on Facebook, you no doubt looked through their photos from the recent fashion show in Montpelier.  We really loved the Gumballs ruffle skirt and the Seahorses camp shirt in particular.

We’re eagerly waiting for the reopening of Zutano’s online shop, which unfortunately is closed due to a fire near the distribution center.  Their preemie line (Itzy Bitzy) has some of the cutest preemie clothes we’ve ever seen, and were a godsend when our niece decided to come a bit on the early side.

Let Them Eat Cake t-shirt by Peek Kids

Let Them Eat Cake t-shirt by Peek KidsPart two of the French Invasion…sort of, more like French Revolution, I guess!  While given the fate of Marie Antoinette (who did not actually utter this quote), this t-shirt from a historical vantage point could be considered in poor taste (oh wait, was that a pun?), what can we say, it’s cute!
